Amnesia: The Bunker Psychological Horror Release Delayed Once Again, But a Public Demo is Coming Soon
The psychological horror game Amnesia: The Bunker from Swedish studio Frictional Games (SOMA) has been delayed for the third time. Originally scheduled for release in March, the game’s launch was pushed back to May 16th, then May 23rd, and now it has been postponed once again to June 6th. The game’s creative director, Fredrik Olsson, announced the news in a two-minute video published by Frictional Games’ microblog.
According to Olsson, the team is proud of their work on the game, but during the certification process, they discovered numerous game crashes that are not easy to fix. The studio realized they would not be able to resolve the issue by May 23rd, and so they decided to delay the release once again.
Amnesia: The Bunker is now set to be released on June 6th for PC (Steam, GOG, Epic Games Store), PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and S, as well as on the Game Pass subscription service. Coincidentally, this new release date is the same day as the launch of Diablo IV.
In addition to announcing the delay, Olsson also shared some good news with fans: a public demo version of Amnesia: The Bunker will be released on the Steam digital distribution service soon. An exact date for the demo’s release will be revealed later.
Amnesia: The Bunker’s story takes place in a World War I bunker where a French soldier named Henri Clément, suffering from amnesia, finds himself armed with a revolver and flashlight. The game promises a high degree of freedom and a pervasive monster for players to evade as they try to uncover the truth behind the bunker’s mysteries.
