The 0x0000001E or KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED error is a common Windows Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) error. This error typically occurs due to issues with device drivers, hardware conflicts, or faulty hardware.

How to fix:

  1. Update Device Drivers: The error can be related to outdated or incompatible device drivers. Check all your drivers, paying particular attention to those of recently installed devices, and update them if necessary.
  2. Check Hardware: If you’ve recently installed new hardware, it could be causing a conflict. Try removing it to see if the error goes away. Also, check your existing hardware (especially memory) for problems. This can be done with a built-in Windows tool called Windows Memory Diagnostic.
  3. Perform a Clean Boot: Some software conflicts can cause the KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED error. Performing a clean boot can help isolate any problematic software.
  4. System File Checker (SFC): Corrupted system files can lead to this error. You can use the SFC tool to scan for and repair potential issues with your system files. To do this, open Command Prompt as an administrator and type “sfc /scannow”.
  5. Last Known Good Configuration: If the error started appearing after some changes were made to the system settings or after new software was installed, using the Last Known Good Configuration option in the Windows Advanced Options menu can resolve the issue.

Remember to back up your data before making significant changes to your system. If the problem persists after following these steps, consider seeking help from a professional or Microsoft Support.
