Roblox will soon be available on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 consoles, with the gaming app set to launch in October.

Roblox is a free-to-play platform available on various platforms, including Windows, macOS, iOS, Android, and Xbox. The company had posted a job listing for a PlayStation engineer back in 2022, and during its August financial report, Roblox CEO David Baszucki hinted at the possibility of the platform coming to not only PS but also Nintendo Switch.

Roblox has promised that PlayStation owners will have access to the “full catalog of experiences,” likely once dedicated clients for PS4 and PS5 are available. This means players can sign in to their accounts and continue games they started on other platforms.

When asked about plans for the Nintendo Switch by The Verge, Roblox representative Roman Skuratovsky stated, “We want Roblox to be on all devices around the world. Currently, we have no immediate plans to release Roblox on Nintendo Switch.”

The company also announced that the Meta Quest Roblox app will become “broadly available” later in September. Roblox had released an open beta version of the app in July, and within the first five days of its launch, it was downloaded by over a million people. Updates, including an improved user interface, are also on the way for the Xbox app.

Meta itself announced the release of Roblox for VR headsets in the Quest family, including the yet-to-be-released Quest 3.
